Wow that thing is a tank. Will be looking forward to seeing if it beats the record. How do they confirm that is does other than checking to make sure the scale used to weigh it is working correctly? Wouldn't a fish lose weight after is dies?

Insane fish. Thanks for posting this. Jake and I were discussing the catch earlier. Wasn't too far from their charter last week.
- Twas on the Fifth day that the fish and fowl were created.
- On the Sixth day He made man in His image and let him have dominion over the fish of the sea, and the fowl of the air.
- On the Seventh day the Lord rested, and I picked up my rod and gun.

that thing is huge. An article from yesterday says only the paper work is holding up the record right now, and that the fish is already with the taxidermist.

In all seriousness, this guy is a well known angler from MY AREA. He was the 2010 striper cup Tourney champ of 2010. Hes had several 50 and 60+ lb fish within the last few years. The guy puts in his time and I would rather him have the record than someone wet behind the ears who went out on a charter and got lucky. I heard about this catch the day he weighed it in and there were so many rumors flying around it didnt seem legit.Rumors from his buddy owning a dragging boat (clams) to him using an alias for the weighing in the fish and seeing him with other 60+ lb fish that look like 35-40lb fish. Field and stream ran with these rumors(internet fed) early on and later corrected them. When they got the full interview http://www.fieldandstream.com/photos/gallery/fishing/bass-fishing/where-fish-bass/2011/08/new-pending-world-record-striped-bass?photo=0#node-1001451179

How can you not be suspicious? shit photos, more wardrobe changes than Lady Gaga(yea i mentioned that name on this forum)

based on the time passed from when the fish was caught and the time he weighed it in this fish def lost a bunch pounds in the process.

I never doubted this from day one..He's an angler and knows what this record means.I mentioned in my last post he isnt going to the IGFA in error which has been corrected.

Adult bunker have been in this area for over a month now.During the time the fish was caught it was hotter than Drunken Basstards urethra when he steps up to the urinal. There have been 60+ lb fish confirmed in the last few years released. A 71lb fish caught in the sound this year..Ya boy international is going out a limb and saying this record wont hold for very long. :cheers
