Salmon fishing - the Big "O"

Salmon fishing - the Big "O"

Postby Redbeard on Wed Sep 07, 2011 6:05 pm

I'm planning a trip up to Lake Ontario with my brother in the near future. Anybody on here ever been up there? We are planning on fishing Mexico Bay where the rivers enter. I've got two downriggers and dipsy divers. Planning to run two rods per rigger (one cheater release) and then the two diver rods.

My question is....what kind of spoons/flys and flasher/blades should i think about using? Does anybody have experience with them?

I have no experience salmon fishing but I am posting because I just came across this on another board

A law was just passed in NY allowing anglers to run 3 rods per man, incase anybody is heading up for the fall salmon fishing.

Good luck guys! I hope you get a nice double-digit salmon. There's some fat ones waiting for you! :fish2
